During two special weeks each May, we honor the women and men who serve with skill and compassion at Maryville.
National Nurses Week 2017 will be observed from May 6-12. The theme is “Nursing: The Balance of Body, Mind and Spirit.”
One week later – from May 14-20 – we will observe National Nursing Home Week® (NNHW). This year’s theme – “The Spirit of America” – underscores the bond between staff, volunteers and residents.
That week, Maryville will host a number of special events from our Mother’s Day Tea on May 14 to our Volunteer Tea on May 17 to our barbecue, Rose Festival and Ice Cream Social on May 19. Visit our calendar for a full listing of this month’s events.
In 1963, Maryville was founded by the Sisters of St. Mary of Oregon to address elder care needs in our region. Today, Maryville provides skilled long-term nursing care, short-term physical rehabilitation and memory care. We continue to celebrate National Nursing Home Week to honor Maryville’s heritage.
As the American Health Care Association (AHCA) notes: “Every skilled nursing care center embodies a unique and vibrant spirit and community for residents, volunteers and staff alike.”
Over the year, the dedicated staff and leaders at Maryville have devoted their lives to providing high-quality care for generations of families. Today, Maryville is as committed to its mission of “service with love” as it was when the Sisters first opened the doors to Maryville 54 years ago.
It was true then and it’s true today. At Maryville, your family is our family.
